Should anyone running an entertainment venue (eg Night Club, Bar, Music venue) be concerned about noise? After all, noise is generally an accepted thing in these establishments.
Well, the simple fact is that employers do need to be concerned, since their duties towards employees is no different to those that apply in ‘normal’ workplaces, eg factories, workshops etc. Not only that, but employees need to be aware of the risks of extended periods of exposure to high noise levels – the risk of permanent hearing damage gets worse as exposure continues. People are at real risk of permanent hearing damage in entertainment establishments.
